Christophe
DESCHODT

CEO
Marine Consultant


Christophe started navigating on board Cruise ship as early as 1999 while attending the ENSM of Marseille. Following his graduation he kept sailing on board Passenger vessels implementing and operating all mandatory documents and maintenance systems.
In 2010, he successfully became a Harbour pilot for the port of Toulon and the French Riviera, but willing to do more for the industry, and knowing he could bring his knowledge to others he founded CHESSMARITIME.

GUILLAUME

Graduated from the French Merchant Marine Academy in 2002, Guillaume was sailing on cargo ships and supply vessels for the oil & gas industry. He was captain on PSV, AHTS ad IMR vessels in a major oil & gas supporting company. He was dealing with regulatory fields for the ships over 500 GRT with several flags and industrial standards including OCIMF. Guillaume was involved with Safety Management System implementation, development and transformation from the beginning. In addition, he has worked in the owner’s office in order to bring his experience. Guillaume joined CHESS Maritime on October 1st 2019 as he was convinced about the purpose of this organisation.

MANAGER


Margot holds a Master's degree in Shipping Management and has 10 years of experience as a crew manager for different flags such as Panama, Malta & France . She has managed a great number of seafarers in the maritime, offshore and yachting sector. Margot handles crew recruitment and ensures regulatory compliance of documents, certificates and follow-up of crew files.
She is our MLC expert and advisor for all crew issues, complaints on board and disciplinary actions.

OLIVIER
CHOYER

TECHNICAL
MANAGER


Olivier graduated in 2004 from the school of architecture of Nantes in the naval field, moved abroad to learn and discover the Anglo-Saxon markets (England, Ireland, Australia) and he was awarded with the title of Master Craftsman by the CMA of Noumea. He has also established his own business as an expert in the repair and maintenance of pleasure boats. Olivier became deputy director and co-manager of DAWA Marine, a company specialized in the importation of pleasure boats, trailers and sport fishing equipment.

After 4 years of managing technical stopovers, maintenance and class visits for yachts, Olivier joined CHESS Maritime in September 2022 as Technical Manager. He is in charge of the relationship with the classification societies & the different flags and works in close collaboration with the crew in order to organise and follow up the progress of the vessels’ technical stopover while at the shipyard. He is in charge of the relationship with the classification societies, the flags, and works in collaboration with the captains and engineers for the preparation and the management of the technical stop periods in shipyards.

ASSISTANT


Holding a Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Valentine joined Chess Maritime in September 2021 in order to assist the crew management department alongside Margot.

Together they handle the different aspects of the seafarers' employment , such as the contracts of engagement , the verification of certificates, the payroll and the social security contributions or the complementary private insurances . They will be able to assist you with any question related to the hiring of French seafarers or other nationalities while remaining in conformity with the various maritime regulations.

IT MANAGER


With a Bachelor's degree in Application Design, Maë joined us in October 2021 to bring an organization as well as a fully-fledged IT entity.

In collaboration with CEO Christophe DESCHODT, she brings a fresh, experienced perspective thanks to her years of experience. Indeed, she has been a referent for a market-leading management software and can therefore provide us with a quality user experience.

She maintains your CMS while complying with CNIL and RGPD regulations.

RAVO
RAZANAMPARANY

MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT,
ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTING


Holding a Bachelor's degree in Management, Accounting and Finance, Ravo joined the CHESS team in September 2022.

Working closely with the whole team, she is responsible for the financial management of our ships. In particular, she helps process invoices for our customers and suppliers at both CHESS MARITIME and CHESS & M.

Ravo also handles all the company's administrative tasks.

LARSEN

QHSE AND
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT


Freshly graduated from the Merchant Navy (ENSM) in 2023, Nils joined CHESS Maritime as part of his end-of-studies internship. During his time at ENSM, he embarked on ferries and tankers before moving on to a master's degree specializing in ship eco-management.

Working alongside Olivier and Guillaume, Nils contributes as much to the QHSE side as to the Technical side. He liaises between the crews and the QHSE Manager to ensure that safety management systems on board are working properly. He also works with the Technical Manager to monitor technical stoppages and on-board maintenance.

FLORIAN
MORENA

IT APPRENTICESHIP


After working for a few years in the web sector, Florian joined Chess Maritime in October 2023 to specialize in software engineering through an apprenticeship program. His passion for development and technical expertise are major assets for our IT team.

At Chess Maritime, Florian focuses on the development and improvement of backend systems, working closely with Maë.

His role in the team is not only to strengthen the existing IT infrastructure but also to explore new technological solutions to support the expansion and innovation at Chess Maritime.

SOPHIA
SAOUCHA

HUMAN RESOURCE
APPRENTICESHIP


Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Sofia works closely with the Human Resources department on various crew management projects, including recruitment, training of sailors, and various administrative obligations with organizations.

She is particularly involved in payroll management, monitoring sailors' certificates, and organizing embarkations and disembarkations.
